It inhibits the uptake of glutamate, which is a neurotransmitter in the brain. 4-Bromo-2-methylthiazole can be used for the treatment of cancer. This drug also inhibits glutamate receptor subtype and shows functionalities such as reactive properties and predominately ferroptosis. 4-Bromo-2-methylthiazole binds to cyclopentenones, which are receptors on rat liver microsomes. The binding of 4-bromo-2 methylthiazole stabilizes these receptors, which may inhibit cancer progression.
