Product Information

Name:
1,3-Bis(benzyloxy)-5-broMobenzene
Description:

1,3-Bis(benzyloxy)-5-broMobenzene is a chemical compound that can be used as an intermediate in the production of other drugs. It is an erythro, achiral ether that has been formylated with ethyl orthoformate and then chlorinated to give 1,3-bis(benzyloxy) 5-chlorobromobenzene. This compound can be hydrogenolyzed to yield formic acid and hydrogen chloride gas. Citrinin, a fungal toxin found in mushrooms, can be synthesized from 1,3-Bis(benzyloxy)-5-broMobenzene by reacting it with benzaldehyde and sodium borohydride (Grignard reagent).
