Description

Butyl acrylate is a monomer that is used in the production of acrylic acid, which is a polymer. Butyl acrylate can be synthesized by reacting butanol with acrylic acid. The product has a low boiling point, which makes it suitable for use as a stabilizer in emulsion polymerization. It's also used to manufacture polybutadiene and polyacrylic acid. Butyl acrylate also has an air-entraining effect, which increases the viscosity of paint and improves its leveling properties when applied to surfaces.
