This reagent is an efficient diazotization agent for the synthesis of 8-hydroxyquinoline. It has been applied to the synthesis of 1,4-bis(2,6-dichlorobenzoyl)-piperazine and 4-(1,1'-biphenyl)-2,6-dicarbonitrile.
