Description:

Boc-3,5-diiodo-L-tyrosine is a ligand that binds to albumin. It has been shown that this ligand can be used for the isolation of serum albumin from bovine and porcine sources. The binding of Boc-3,5-diiodo-L-tyrosine to albumin is reversible and competitive with respect to l-phenylalanine. This compound has been shown to have an affinity for human serum albumin in the range of 10 μM. It interacts with 3-iodo-l-tyrosine, which is an active site on serum albumin. Boc-3,5-diiodo-L-tyrosine may also bind to other proteins such as hemoglobin or α1 acid glycoprotein, although it does not bind to the same extent as it does with albumin.
