Synonyms:
  • N-Butyl-4-methylpyridinium hexafluorophosphate
  • Pyridinium, 1-butyl-4-methyl-, hexafluorophosphate(1-)
  • Pyridinium, 1-butyl-4-methyl-, hexafluorophosphate(1-) (1:1)
Description:

1-Butyl-4-methylpyridinium hexafluorophosphate (BMFP) is a fluorescent probe that can be used as an analytical chemistry tool. It has been used to measure electron transfer in photosynthetic pigments, such as chlorophyll and carotenoids. BMFP is also a cross-linking agent that can be immobilized for use in adsorption mechanisms. The interaction of BMFP with the Mn2+ ions is an important factor in its structure analysis.
