C-Cys-Asp-Pro-Gly-Tyr-Ile-Gly-Ser-Arg is a cyclic peptide that is synthesized from the amino acid sequence of human epidermal growth factor (EGF). It has been shown to have in vitro and in vivo antitumor activity against melanoma cells. C-Cys-Asp-Pro-Gly-Tyr-Ile-Gly-Ser-Arg has also been shown to activate EGF receptors with physiological levels of EGF and to inhibit tumor metastasis.
