Cyclo(-Gly-Tyr(PO3H2)-Val-Pro-Met-Leu) is a cyclic peptidomimetic that has proton and conformational mobility. It has the ability to bind to phosphotyrosine residues, which are found in protein kinases. Cyclo(-Gly-Tyr(PO3H2)-Val-Pro-Met-Leu) also binds to c-terminal amino acid residues, which are found on the protein's surface. The binding of Cyclo(-Gly-Tyr(PO3H2)-Val-Pro-Met-Leu) to these two types of residues can inhibit protein kinase activity, leading to the inhibition of cancer cell proliferation. This compound shows isomerism with its mirror image, so it can be used as an effective agent for treating conditions such as Parkinson's disease and Alzheimer's disease.
