3-Chloro-propyl)-methyl-carbamicacidtert-butylester is an isoform of the monoamine oxidase enzyme. It is a fluorophore that can be used to measure levels of endogenous amines, such as dopamine and serotonin, in the brain. 3CPCB has been shown to have high specificity for mao-A and has been used for the evaluation of this enzyme in various tissues. The fluorescence probe is sensitive to pH changes and can be used to measure concentrations of propylamine in aqueous solutions. 3CPCB has been extensively evaluated using analytical chemistry techniques, including high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis.
