Description

2-(1-Cyclohexenyl)ethylamine is an organic chemical that has a redox potential of 1.2 V, making it a strong reducing agent. It can be used as a catalyst in the hydrogen sulfate reduction method to generate ammonia from ammonium sulfate. 2-(1-Cyclohexenyl)ethylamine also reacts with amines to form substituted cyclohexenes and can be used in a reaction sequence for the synthesis of pyridine derivatives. 2-(1-Cyclohexenyl)ethylamine's molecular structure can be determined by NMR spectroscopy, which shows that this molecule is planar and has different vibrational modes.
