Product Information
- Benzenemethanol, Α-(Chloromethyl)-4-Fluoro-
2-Chloro-1-(4-fluorophenyl)ethanol is a carbenoid that yields chlorohydrins on reaction with magnesium, aldehydes, or lithium. It has been used as a reagent for the synthesis of chloroiodomethane. 2-Chloro-1-(4-fluorophenyl)ethanol reacts with sulfuric acid to yield 4-chloroiodobenzene. With zinc and hydrochloric acid, it forms 3-chloropropene. This chemical has been used for the synthesis of 2,5,6-trichloronicotinamide from 2,5,6-trichloroaniline and ammonia.
