Description:

1,2-Dibromo-5-chloro-3-fluorobenzene (1,2-DCF) is a boronic ester that can be used for the synthesis of benzonitrile derivatives. It is an electrophile and reacts with magnesium to form a Grignard reagent. 1,2-DCF has been shown to have high yields and is also a good penetrant. It also undergoes cross-coupling reactions with various ring structures. The reaction requires only stoichiometric amounts of boronic acid or boronate ester and can be carried out in the presence of an organic solvent such as isopropyl alcohol at room temperature or below. The product obtained from this reaction is the desired 1,2-DCF derivative.
