2,4-Dimethylpentan-3-one oxime is a reactive molecule that can react with alkoxy radicals to form a cavity. This functional group can also react with fatty acids and fatty acid esters to form a 2-oxoethyl radical. The 2-oxoethylether can then undergo a thermal reaction or cross-linking reactions with other molecules such as methyl ethyl ketones. This chemical has been used in coating applications, where it has synergistic effects with organic solvents and coatings. The molecule is also used as a cross-linking agent in the manufacture of fatty alcohols.
