It is also used as a fusogenic agent for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. The adsorption mechanism of 1,2-Di-O-hexadecyl-rac-glycero-3-phosphocholine is photochemical in nature and is dependent on the concentration of sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) in solution.
