- 4-Methoxy-3-(sulfooxy)benzenepropanoic acidDihydroisoferulic acid 3-O-sulfate
Dihydro isoferulic acid 3-O-sulfate (DHFOS) is a sulfur-containing metabolite that is produced from the metabolism of ferulic acid. It has been shown to inhibit porphyromonas, an opportunistic microorganism that is commonly found in the human gastrointestinal tract. DHFOS has been shown to be a dietary biomarker for fatty acids and it has been used as a control group in the validation of a high performance liquid chromatography method. This metabolite can also be found in urine samples and can diagnose urinary bladder infections with clinical syndrome.
