Description

1-(Diphenylmethyl)-4-(1-oxo-3,3-diphenylpropyl)piperazine is a selective blocker of the N-type and L-type calcium channels. It is used for the treatment of neuropathic pain and postherpetic neuralgia. The drug has been shown to reduce pain in patients with postherpetic neuralgia by blocking the release of inflammatory mediators and preventing the action potentials that are responsible for the transmission of pain signals. 1-(Diphenylmethyl)-4-(1-oxo-3,3-diphenylpropyl)piperazine can be administered orally, which may make it more convenient for patients who have difficulty swallowing.
