4-(Dimethylamino)pyridine N-oxide hydrate (DMAPO) is a chemical compound that has been used in the synthesis of amide compounds, and as an intermediate for organic synthesis. DMAPO is a white solid with a melting point of 136-138°C and a molecular weight of 149.12 g/mol. It is soluble in water and alcohols. This compound can form stable complexes with hydrogen bonds through its pyridine ring, which leads to the formation of amides or amine salts.
