Diisopropylxanthogen disulfide is an unsaturated alkyl that can be used as a cross-linker. It reacts with potassium dichromate to form a particle, which consists of a coordination complex and fatty acid. The reaction mechanism for the formation of this particle is not well understood, but it has been shown to have high resistance to chemical stability and pH levels. Diisopropylxanthogen disulfide emits light when it reacts with oxygen in the air, and its diameter can be controlled by varying the amount of potassium dichromate. This agent is commonly used in cell culture experiments because it does not interfere with the viability of cells.
