Disperse Orange 61 is a synthetic, crystalline photoinitiator that belongs to the class of diazonium salts. It is used as an additive in polymerization reactions, such as those involving polylactic acid and polymeric materials. Disperse Orange 61 is soluble in organic solvents and has an optimum concentration of 0.01% for polymerization. The optical sensor can be used to detect the presence of Disperse Orange 61 with a sensitivity of 50 ppm. This compound is typically used as a cross-linking agent in the production of particles or filaments.
