Description:
Di-tert-butyl disulfide is a reactive chemical species that can be used as a model system to study the reactivity of disulfides. It has been shown to have antiinflammatory activity, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the formation of prostaglandins by inhibiting the enzyme cyclooxygenase. Di-tert-butyl disulfide also has the potential to form a covalent bond with copper chloride and laser ablation, making it an ideal candidate for surface modification.
