Description:

Di-mu-hydroxo-bis[(N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine)copper(II)] chloride is a copper catalyst for the electrochemical polymerization of cumulenic monomers. It is a semiconducting material that has been shown to be an efficient method for the production of polymers with controlled molecular weights and morphologies. This compound was synthesized in order to stabilize the polymerization process by acting as an activator and by reducing the activation energy required to initiate polymerization. The synthesis of this compound was achieved using physicochemical methods such as constant temperature, constant current and concentration gradients.
