2,4-Difluorobenzoyl chloride is a quinoline derivative with antimicrobial activity. It is an inhibitor of the replication of DNA and RNA, which has been shown to be effective against hepatitis in vivo models. It also inhibits the replication of DNA and RNA in vitro, inhibiting cancer cell growth. 2,4-Difluorobenzoyl chloride also has antiviral properties and is a potent inhibitor of inflammation. This drug also has anti-inflammatory properties and may be used to treat autoimmune diseases such as psoriasis or rheumatoid arthritis.
2,4-Difluorobenzoyl chloride binds to proteins by covalent bonds and reversibly inhibits the enzyme that catalyzes deamination of adenosine monophosphate (AMP) to adenosine triphosphate (ATP). This inhibition leads to a decrease in cellular energy production, which can lead to degenerative diseases such as Parkinson's disease
