Product Information
- (1Z)-1,2-Dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoro-1-propene
- 1-propene, 1,2-dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoro-, (1Z)-
1,2-Dichloro-3,3,3-trifluoropropene (1,2-DCP) is a gaseous compound that is used as a diluent in the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). This compound is inexpensive and can be produced by reacting chlorine with hydrogen fluoride. 1,2-DCP reacts with chloride gas to form chlorofluorocarbons. 1,2-DCP also reacts with hydrogen chloride to form hydrochloric acid and hydrogen chloride. 1,2-DCP does not have any known biological effects.
