Description

2-[2-(Fmoc-amino)ethoxy]ethoxy}acetic acid is a constant that is used as a test compound. It has been shown to have natriuretic effects in human serum, and can also be used to treat atrial fibrillation. 2-[2-(Fmoc-amino)ethoxy]ethoxy}acetic acid binds to the receptor for the natriuretic peptide (NP), which is found on the membrane of lung fibroblasts. This binding increases intracellular calcium levels, leading to activation of protein kinase C and phospholipase C, and eventually cell contraction.
