- Fmoc-L-Arg(Pmc)-OH
Fmoc-Arg(Pmc)-OH is an organic compound that is a β-amino acid. It is soluble in water and organic solvents. Fmoc-Arg(Pmc)-OH binds to the receptor binding domain of thrombin, which inhibits thrombin's ability to bind to its receptor. This inhibition causes decreased blood clotting, leading to the prevention of deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. Fmoc-Arg(Pmc)-OH also inhibits the production of reactive oxygen species by mitochondria by acting as a noncompetitive inhibitor of this enzyme. In addition, it has been shown to inhibit leukemia cells in a dose dependent manner, with an IC50 value of 3 uM.
