Fmoc-L-aspartic acid beta-benzyl ester is an amide biomolecule that is synthesized using a stepwise sequence of solid-phase synthesis. The hydroxyl group on the side chain of the amino acid is protected with a triazole, which can then be modified by conjugation to other functional groups. Fmoc-L-aspartic acid beta-benzyl ester has been shown to be useful in the synthesis of oligodeoxynucleotides and conjugates. It also has been shown to be useful for preventing the formation of crosslinks when irradiated or treated with trifluoroacetic acid.
