Description

Fluorochromone is a phenylhydrazone that has been shown to be unreactive with other compounds. The compound has been studied through simulations and there have not been any reactions observed. It is also a non-covalent interaction, so the compound does not form covalent bonds. Fluorochromone shows an absorption peak at 616 nm in the infrared spectrum and fluoresces orange-red in the visible spectrum. This compound is used for fingerprint analysis and has a melting point of 140°C.
The yields for this molecule are about 55% when synthesized anhydrously or with hydrochloric acid. Fluorochromone is a macrocyclic molecule that can form coagulation with magnetic materials, which may be due to its magnetic properties.
