(1R,2S,4R,5S)-6-Fluorocyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5-Pentol is a compound that can be used as an antiproliferative agent. It has been found to have significant antiproliferative activity in the l1210 murine leukemia cell line and is catalysed by fatty acids. The compound was synthesized from the reaction of 3-(2-methylpropyl)benzeneboronic acid with bromomethylcyclohexane followed by hydrogenation. (1R,2S,4R,5S)-6-Fluorocyclohexane-1,2,3,4,5-pentol has potential use in the treatment of leukemia cells and may also be effective against other types of cancer cells and other diseases.
