Description:1-(1-(5-((2'-fluoroethyl)cyclohexyl)-piperidin-1-yl)cyclohexane-1,2,3,4-tetraol is a magnetic nanoparticle that has high specificity and can be used to detect hydroxyapatite. It is synthesized by the reaction of 2-fluoroethanol with 1,3-bis(diphenylphosphino)-propane (dppp) in the presence of potassium carbonate. The reaction solution spontaneously forms a monolayer on a surface such as ceramics or glass. This monolayer shows potential use in detecting hydroxyapatite and other calcium compounds in bone lesions, as well as for desorption and optical properties.
