It is a positionally defined sequence of amino acids that has been shown to bind to Alzheimer's disease (AD) amyloid peptides and inhibit the formation of beta amyloid fibrils. The N-terminal sequence of this polypeptide is immunogenic, which may be useful for generating antibodies against AD.
