Product Information
H-Gly-Phe-Ala-OH is a tripeptide with a protonated amino group at the N-terminus and an acidic carboxylic acid at the C-terminus. It has an optical absorption band around 340 nm, which can be attributed to the presence of a metal ion. Spin resonance experiments have shown that the peptide interacts with histidine residues on proteins in solution. This interaction is based on charge transfer between the peptide and histidine residues and is not due to hydrogen bonding. The spin resonance experiment also showed that this interaction was specific for histidine residues. The fluorescence spectroscopy of H-Gly-Phe-Ala-OH showed that it has high photostability, even under strong UV radiation, which means it will not undergo photobleaching or photodegradation.
