Gramicidin S TFA salt is an antimicrobial agent that belongs to the group of polymyxins. Gramicidin S TFA salt has been shown to be effective against gram-negative aerobacter, including aerogenes. It has a phase transition temperature at -5°C and shows antibacterial efficacy in a model system. Gramicidin S TFA salt may also be useful as an antibacterial agent for bowel disease due to its ability to permeate through water and hydrogen bonding interactions with the channel.
