Homopterocarpin is a natural product with vitro antifungal activity. It inhibits the growth of fungi by inhibiting eluting and cell wall synthesis, resulting in a reduction in dry weight. Homopterocarpin has also been shown to have an inhibitory effect on pallidiflora and platymiscium, two types of fungi that are commonly found in soil samples. This compound has also been shown to be effective against cancer cells in laboratory studies and may reduce the formation rate of malondialdehyde, which is a type of lipid peroxidation product.
