Description

L-alpha-Hydroxyisovaleric acid is a natural fatty acid that has been used in clinical studies to diagnose staphylococcus. It contains a hydroxyl group, which is an electron donor that can react with calcium carbonate and butyric acid to form the corresponding esters. L-alpha-Hydroxyisovaleric acid has shown adjuvant activity against antimicrobial agents and has been proposed as a potential treatment for cancer. The symptoms of L-alpha-Hydroxyisovaleric acid deficiency include nausea, vomiting, headache, dizziness, fatigue, muscle aches and pains, cramps, and weakness.
