Product Information
Helodermin is a peptide hormone that belongs to the helodermin family. It has been found to have biological properties in the treatment of infectious diseases such as HIV, hepatitis C, and malaria. Helodermin has potent anti-inflammatory effects and can modulate the immune system. This hormone also shows potential in the treatment of autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis.
Helodermin is synthesized from a precursor protein called pro-helodermin. The pro-helodermin is converted into a series of smaller peptides by proteolytic cleavage, which includes amino acids on its carboxy terminal end and fatty acid side chains. These peptides are then linked together by an amide bond to form helodermin.
