Description

Isopimpinellin (IPL) is a coumarin derivative that has shown to have significant cytotoxic and antimicrobial effects. IPL has been shown to inhibit the growth of human leukemia cells, HL-60 cells, by inducing cell cycle arrest at G2/M phase. In addition, IPL has demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity in vitro and in vivo against infectious diseases such as staphylococcus aureus infection. IPL also inhibits the enzyme activity of epoxide hydrolase and cytochrome P450, which may be related to its toxicity in humans.
