Product Information
- D-Leu-Leu-OH
D-Leucyl-leucine is an amide and a synthetic analog of leucine. It is a pressor agent that increases blood pressure by binding to the alpha-adrenergic receptors in the kidney. This drug has been shown to be effective in animal models for infectious diseases, inflammatory diseases, and cancer. D-Leucyl-leucine has also been shown to be a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in bacteria and animal cells. The chemical structure of D-Leucyl-leucine consists of four peptide chains linked by amide bonds with two methyl groups on each side. The NMR spectroscopy data obtained from this compound indicate the presence of two proton resonances at δ 6.6 ppm and δ 4.3 ppm, which correspond to the protons on the Cα atom (methyl group) on the side chain amide.
