Description:

2-[4-methyl-3-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]acetic Acid (2MPAA) is a potent inhibitor of protein synthesis in plants. It inhibits the synthesis of collagen and other proteins, which may be due to its inhibitory effect on synthetase. 2MPAA has been shown to inhibit phosphatases, such as dextran sulfate and p-nitrophenyl phosphate. 2MPAA also inhibits the replication of DNA by binding to the enzyme DNA polymerase, inhibiting dna replication. This compound has been shown to bind to Igg1 monoclonal antibodies that are used in biological samples from wheat leaves.
