Description:
2-Methylmercaptoimidazole is a protein that has been found to be expressed in many animals, including humans. It is thought to have an inhibitory effect on fatty acid and hydrogen bond formation, which may play a role in pain control. 2-Methylmercaptoimidazole also has an inhibitory effect on the growth factor basic protein, metabolic rate, and platelet-derived growth factor receptor and cell monolayer. The molecular modeling of this protein shows that it interacts with glutamate dehydrogenase and neurotrophic factors.
