Product Information

Name:
cis-Metconazole
Description:

Metconazole is a triazole antifungal agent that inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an important constituent of fungal cell membranes. Metconazole is used to treat fungal skin infections and vaginal yeast infections. Acetate extraction of metconazole can be used to produce cis-metconazole, which has a synergic effect with prothioconazole against fusarium species resistant to metconazole. Cis-metconazole also has inhibitory effects on photosynthesis in plants such as wheat, barley, and oats, as well as human cyp3a4. This means that it may have adverse effects on the liver and kidneys if taken in high doses.
