Description:
Methyl benzo[d]thiazole-6-carboxylate is a chemical compound that contains sulfur. It has been shown to undergo transformation to the sulfoxide and sulfone derivatives. This transformation is mechanistically studied using adducts, which are formed when the carboxylate group and a nucleophile (e.g., water) react together. The sulfur atom in methyl benzo[d]thiazole-6-carboxylate is also oxidized by hydrogen peroxide, resulting in the formation of a sulfonic acid derivative with one less oxygen atom than methyl benzo[d]thiazole-6-carboxylate.
