Product Information
- (2H7)naphthalen-2-ol
2-Naphthol D7 is a fluorescence probe that is used to detect the presence of mucopolysaccharidosis. 2-Naphthol D7 binds to the polysaccharides and emits light at 735 nm when excited with light at 350 nm. This fluorescence can be detected by a fluorimeter or spectrophotometer. The concentration of 2-naphthol D7 in urine samples can be determined by an immunosorbent assay, which uses antibodies that are specific for this compound. The fluorescence intensity correlates with the amount of polysaccharides present in urine samples, which can help diagnose patients who have mucopolysaccharidosis type IIIA (MPS IIIA).
