Description:
3-Oxo-3-pyrrolidin-1-ylpropanenitrile is an amide that is synthesized from 6-nitroquinoline and piperidine. It has been shown to be a chiral compound and can be used in the synthesis of various pharmaceuticals. 3-Oxo-3-pyrrolidin-1-ylpropanenitrile has been shown to have growth promoting activity, which may be due to its ability to activate adenosine receptors. This active methylene group is also involved in acidic hydrolysis reactions with anhydrous sodium hydroxide.
