Osthenol is a bioactive phenolic compound with anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and anticancer properties. It is obtained from the natural drug Angelicae Dahuricae. The process optimization of Osthenol production was achieved by optimizing the extraction process with matrix effect and thermal expansion. Osthenol has been shown to inhibit apoptosis protein in leukemia cells and to have an effect on dinucleotide phosphate in cells. In addition, it has been shown to be beneficial for skin cancer treatment due to its ability to inhibit protocatechuic acid synthesis in tumor cells, as well as its antioxidant properties. Lastly, Osthenol has been shown to have anti-diabetic effects through its ability to control glucose levels in diabetic neuropathy.
