- Phosphoric acid, anhydride with molybdic acid
Phosphomolybdic acid is a catalytic agent that reacts with copper chloride in the presence of water to form molybdenum phosphates. It has been shown to be an efficient catalyst for the conversion of glycol ethers to cyclohexene oxide, which is used in the production of nylon. Phosphomolybdic acid has also been used as a model system for studying human serum reactions and redox potentials. The chemical stability of this compound has been demonstrated by its ability to react with magnesium salt and sodium citrate in a solution without any loss of catalytic activity.
