Product Information
- H-Ser-Ile-Pro-Ser-Lys-Asp-Ala-Leu-Leu-Lys-OH H-SIPSKDALLK-OH
Sodefrin H-Ser-Ile-Pro-Ser-Lys-Asp-Ala-Leu-Leu-Lys is a synthetic molecule that belongs to the class of antimicrobial peptides. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of bacteria, fungi and viruses. Sodefrin H-Ser-Ile-Pro-Ser-Lys-Asp is an amphipathic molecule that can be synthesized by expressing synthetic genes in Escherichia coli. The molecule consists of two alpha helices and two beta sheets. The amino acid sequence of this peptide is derived from the submandibular gland signal peptide, which is responsible for directing the synthesis of this molecule in the submandibular gland. This peptide may have a receptor cell response due to its evolutionary radiation from serine protease.
