Sauvagine is a trifluoroacetate salt of Pyr-Gly-Pro-Pro-Ile-Ser-Ile-Asp-Leu-Ser-Leu-Glu-Leu-Leu-Arg. It has been used as a model system to study the effects of trifluoroacetic acid on brain functions. Sauvagine has also been shown to have inhibitory effects on cyclase enzymes, which are involved in the synthesis of steroids and other hormones. This compound has also been found to have an effect on locomotor activity and receptor activity.
