Description

Stylophorin is a natural product that belongs to the group of phenylethanoids. It is found in the roots of Chelidonium majus L., which are commonly known as "pigweed." Stylophorin is used for the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery, as well as for its antibacterial and antifungal properties. It has been shown to inhibit bacterial growth by binding to DNA-dependent RNA polymerase, thereby preventing transcription and replication. Stylophorin also inhibits the production of rRNA, protein synthesis, and cell division.
