Product Information

Name:
S-Trityl-D-cysteine
Synonyms:
  • D-Cys(Trt)-OH
  • Alanine,3-(tritylthio)-, D-
  • D-Cysteine, S-(triphenylmethyl)-
Description:

S-Trityl-D-cysteine is a small molecule that inhibits the enzyme activity of caspase, an important cell death pathway. S-Trityl-D-cysteine has been shown to inhibit the production of reactive oxygen species and induce cell death in myeloid leukemia cells and k562 cells. It also inhibits the mitochondrial membrane potential and induces apoptosis by activating caspases. This drug can be used as a potential drug target for treatment of cancer, hepatitis, or myeloid leukemia. Furthermore, it can be used in vivo to treat these diseases by inhibiting sirt2 (a protein that regulates gene expression).
