5-(Trimethylsilyl)-1,2,3,4,5-pentamethyl-1,3-cyclopentadiene (PTMCH) is an oxidizing agent used in electrochemical processes. It can be vaporized and introduced into the electrolyte between the two electrodes of a lithium ion battery. The oxidation of PTMCH occurs at the electrode surface and produces lithium ions that are then collected by the other electrode.
